Robin of the Future

Carrie Kelly of Earth-1 (hypothetical future)
Born: c.1987
Started career: c.2000
First comic book 1986.

The Earth-1 continuity ended with the Crisis on Infinite Earths in 1985. Carrie Kelly existed only in a hypothetical future.

Carrie Kelly's parents were bleeding-heart liberal dopers who were barely aware of her comings and goings. But their daughter was a bright, self-motivated girl who excelled at both gymnastics and computers.
When Batman came out of his ten-year retirement, the usually practical Carrie was inspired to buy a Robin costume and begin attempting to fight petty crimes.
When Batman was severely wounded in a fight with the leader of the savage Mutant gang, Carrie rescued him as Robin, administering first-aid and getting him into the tank-like Batmobile which autodrove both of them to the secret Batcave. Batman was impressed with the girl's courage and spirit, and accepted her as the new Robin.
Carrie sometimes seemed disobedient and reckless as Robin, but usually this was because Batman underestimated her competance and abilities. He repeatedly threatened to "fire" her, but was actually in awe of this girl, and never made good on the threat.
Carrie helped Bruce Wayne fake his death, and was last seen at his side as he began to train a small army of reformed street punks into heroes for an age in desperate need.
