In my practice as a Registered Master Farrier, I tend to deal primarily with advanced therapeutic and corrective cases. These horses are usually shod at their home stables or here at the shop and sent home. But sometimes the success of therapeutic farriery depends in large part upon the daily management of the horse between shoeings. Not all stables have the facilities or personnel with the know-how to give the horse the best chance for a positive outcome.
At Prophet's Thumb we have the drained paddocks and other features needed for most lameness management. Naturally, shoeing repairs and adjustments can be made as often as required. Between myself and Anne (a Meredith Manner Equestrian College graduate with years of experience on a veterinary staff and many more years as my partner in Millwater Horseshoeing), daily care and treatments (as prescribed by the vet) should be more than adequately handled.
If your horse needs intensive lameness management, contact us about sending him for a stay at Prophet's Thumb.
